Easter sunrise service at Piney Grove

The annual Piney Grove UMC Easter sunrise service is at 7:30 am, Sunday April 20, 2014. We are hosting the service for the Etowah community. All are always welcome to come to any of our services. Easter gives us a special time to gather for worship.

Why don't you come on out to join us? We will gather in the cemetery by the church. No other day is as Holy as Easter. We are having a light breakfast right after the service. ("While supplies last" as they say.)

We hope to see you here. Come on out and bring a friend.

Egg Hunt on Saturday

Guess what folks! We are having an Easter Egg hunt!

Come on out on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 3:30 pm.

Don't let the weather keep you home. The eggs are plastic and stuffed with candy. Damp grass shouldn't hurt the edible goodness that is stuffed inside each egg.

If it rains, we will move the egg hunt indoors. Rain or shine, today should be a lot of fun!

The dinner will be in our church fellowship hall. Proceeds benefit our general fund and outreach ministries. Why not come, enjoy a good meal and bring a friend? All are welcome encouraged.

Times are exciting at Piney Grove UMC!

We are in the process of adding a new Sunday School class for children who are in early elementary school and preschool. Our Wednesday night program is made up of teenagers (boys and girls) and children who are sixth grade and younger.

If your church is upgrading its program or if you have extra items on hand, let us know. Except for craft supplies, nothing on the list needs to be new. We are open to gently used working items.

Our little church is grateful for what God is doing. We give back by collecting food for a local pantry, hosting a free movie and pizza night on Wednesday and through other outreach efforts.

Young Adult Methodists final meeting for 2013

Tonight the Young Adult Methodists McMinn (YAMMS) are having their final meeting of 2013. The group decided to meet at Jones Chapel for this evening. On tap are board games, snacks and someone is bringing chili.

The McMinn County churches that were represented at the last meeting are:

Piney Grove
Jones Chapel
Mars Hill

Do you want to be part of something bigger? Do you want to make a difference in McMinn County? This is the group to join.

Piney Grove now has a new QR code. The graphic will bring you back to this blog. It can be printed on bulletins or worship materials. People who have a QR reader on their smart phone can easily use the graphic. Open the app and hold it over the code. You will be directed to this blog in just a few seconds.
